Save for the singing of the birds, the world remains hush. Barely 6am, I found myself admiring the sunrise and out the door of my home. Clasping the camera close, I maneuvered to see better. The dew soaked my feet and I felt a thrill of excitement raced through me. Sunrises of the Morning Dawn had always brought happiness. I never knew what colors would paint the sky or how the clouds would be etched in the brightening day.

I stood there for a moment taking it in. Despite, it being the middle of July the air was cool and my wraps were a warm welcome that morning. Raising my camera, adjusting the controls, I wait for the color I knew was coming. As slow as it seemed to come, the sky seemed in a moment to burst with color. For a moment, I photographed exploring with my camera.

Furthermore, a tripod doesn’t hurt either. I’ve longed ago learned how to steady my camera when there’s not one near or the capability isn’t there to make one. Understanding the what and why of Photography.

Capture emotions with lighting that is not the best, be sensitive to timing amidst both grief and joy, and know how to visual tell a story without words is simple and hard. Picking up the camera is one of the most easiest thing to do, but the knowing what to do with it is the rub. There’s more to photography than meets the eyes. Morning Dawn happened because I built strength, knowledge, and disciplined to create the image. The photograph is one of the last final designation, there is always the beginning and preparation that is often not seen.
